ORGANIZATIONAL PROFILE
African and American Friendship Association for Cooperation and Development (AAFACD), Inc., incorporated in May 2002, obtained a 501 (3) (c) non-profit status in April 2003. AAFACD grew out of the dedication of people of color who serve as volunteers and an active and diverse Governing Board of Directors. The Agency has five part-time paid staff (Executive Director, Finance Manager, Communication/Marketing Manager, Outreach Community Educator, and Case Manager) and the Development& Evaluation Consultant, as well as a core of ten active volunteers. AAFACD has a separate Advisory Board of six participants, most of whom are African immigrants/refugees.
AAFACD addresses newcomers' needs for employment, health care, and other support services through programs provided by ourselves, as well as through referrals to other agencies. AAFACD serves underserved and underemployed African, Asian and Latino immigrants/refugees.
